How long can a single investigation run, and what happens when it ends?

There is no fixed time limit: an investigation runs while you keep it open and finalises when you close it or step away, saving the session timeline and any snapshots you captured to your workspace. Paid plans run unlimited investigations. You can stop early at any time, and anything you captured is still saved.

Where is our session data stored, and how long do you keep it?

What do the extensions actually do?

Each one drops Guard.ch into a place you already meet links, so opening one in a fresh investigation takes a single click. In the browser, extensions for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Brave add a right-click 'Open in Guard.ch' to any page; for email and chat, add-ins for Outlook, Gmail, Slack and Teams open a link straight from a message or channel (those are on the way). Whichever you use, the link runs in a throwaway cloud browser you watch live, never on your own device, and it only acts when you invoke it, so nothing reads your pages, mail or chats in the background.
