Connect Zed to Guard.ch
Let Zed open and interact with websites in an isolated cloud browser. Watch live or hand over a running session.
Connect Zed
Install Zed and set up the Agent Panel with a model that supports tool use.
1. Add the connection
Run zed: open settings file from the command palette and add this to settings.json. If it already has a context_servers section, add only the guardch entry.
Command Palette > zed: open settings file
Add the entry below. Keep any other servers already in the file.
{ "context_servers": { "guardch": { "url": "https://api.guard.ch/mcp" } } }2. Sign in and allow access
Zed then asks you to sign in to guardch. Sign in and allow access on the Guard.ch page that opens.
3. Try it in a new chat
Open Settings › AI › MCP Servers and check that the indicator next to guardch is green and says Server is active. Then send the task below in the Agent Panel.
Agent Panel > Tools
Open example.com in a Guard.ch browser and tell me what the page says.

Need help?
If the indicator stays red, check the JSON in settings.json and that the URL is exactly as shown. Tool errors also appear in the Agent Panel.
Hand over a running session
Choose “Hand off to an agent” in the Guard.ch viewer and paste the prepared prompt into your assistant’s chat. The session ID in that prompt lets the assistant continue in the same browser. Sign your assistant in with the same Guard.ch account.
