Connect OpenAI API to Guard.ch
Let OpenAI API open and interact with websites in an isolated cloud browser. Watch live or hand over a running session.
Connect OpenAI API
You need an OpenAI API key and a model that supports the remote MCP tool in the Responses API.
1. Create access
Open the dashboard to create a key and get a ready-to-copy configuration.
Create a key in the dashboard2. Add the connection
Add this tool to a Responses API request and put your app key in place of YOUR_API_KEY. OpenAI does not store the key, so send it with every request.
Responses API > tools
Use this in your server code.
Create a key to copy this value
3. Try it in a new chat
Send the task below as input. The response should list the Guard.ch tools in an mcp_list_tools item and show the browser steps as mcp_call items.
Open example.com in a Guard.ch browser and tell me what the page says.

Need help?
If mcp_list_tools contains an error, check the app key in authorization. If you remove require_approval, approve each mcp_approval_request in your next request.
Hand over a running session
Choose “Hand off to an agent” in the Guard.ch viewer and paste the prepared prompt into your assistant’s chat. The session ID in that prompt lets the assistant continue in the same browser. Sign your assistant in with the same Guard.ch account.
